WHAT DO YO DO OR OFFER AT ACORN?
I am a yoga teacher and sound therapist – working primarily with gongs, I offer both of these holistic therapies weekly at the Acorn Wellness Retreat. I have many passions including working with crystals, shamanic healing, drum and rattle journeys.
WHAT MAKES YOUR HEART SING?
Family and friends. Travel. Laughter. My dog. Making someone smile. Helping others through my work. Reading. Sunshine. Walking. My home. Connection. Freedom. The simple things in life.
WHAT CHALLENGES YOU?
I struggle to put myself out there, although I am getting better since joining the crew at the Acorn. I believe in my gifts, I know what I have people need. It’s getting easier!
WHAT IS YOUR GO TO WELLNESS TOOL AT THE MOMENT?
Right now yoga is providing me with a daily connection to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth). I am also using crystals when the need arises to clear blocked energy, ease physical discomfort and allow for better sleep. Now, is such an important time to give to yourself, whatever that looks like for you.
IF YOU COULD BE ANY ANIMAL OR THING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would be a bird, maybe a condor or golden eagle .. a bird without any predators! Just to be above our planet soaring on the thermals, with the mountains, rivers and trees as my vista. Freedom. Yes, I would be a bird.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR 16 YEAR OLD SELF?
Not to take life so seriously, have more fun, do things that make you scared, understand that you are not different to anybody else, appreciate your strengths, people will leave your life and its okay to be sad, remember those that came before you, do good whenever you can and wherever you are, you are not going to live forever, just do it, listen to your intuition it will never serve you wrong. Your heart will be broken many times and you will recover every time.
Wow, that was so cathartic!
WHERE WOULD YOU BE NOW IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE? WHY?
PERU. The first time I went there I connected in so deeply with its energy, I have never felt anything like it since, I’ve been there three times and every time I go back from stepping off the aeroplane it feels like I’m getting a motherly hug. The mountains are breath taking, massive and majestic and the people are beautiful. I would be working with my Shaman on deepening my connection to Pacha Mama by means of plant medicine and ceremonies. I would be in a boat cruising down the Amazon River. In the markets of Pisac buying crystals and blankets, woven backpacks and bracelets, visiting Inca sites and drinking Chicha Morada – a typical Peruvian drink made from purple corn .. delicious! I would spend some time in Cusco, such a beautiful city. A bit of my heart is in Peru.
