Julie is our fantastic yoga teacher. Teaching a range of classes including Vinyasa Flow and Kundalini yoga. She also specialises in gong baths and yoga nidra which are so therapeutic and soothing.
‘I didn’t find yoga, yoga found me. After losing my son in 2002 my life was scattered. My mind was a runaway train, I had no control over my thoughts and at times I couldn’t see the woods for the trees. I began as a yoga student in 2003/2004. With posture, breath and meditation I soon found the most valuable tool I could ever have imagined. My life changed completely after that. I found focus and a healthy way forward. I started to see my life as a journey and this excited me.”
Beccy has been practising yoga for over 15 years. She found it so beneficial to the mind, body and soul that she embarked on a two year journey to further her knowledge and become a qualified teacher. Beccy enjoys teaching about feminine energy and holding a safe space for women to grow and develop themselves. She uses kundalini kriya and relaxing breath work – creating a space to feel nurtured.
Through Yoga, Beccy was inspired to create herbal teas to support the physical and emotional health of her clients. She is also a Reiki master and offers treatments at The Acorn.

Yoga Retreat Teacher
Georgina hosts weekend yoga retreats here at the Acorn. The yoga she teaches is vinyasa. Speaking of the retreat and yoga, Georgina said, “I am in love with idea of losing yourself in movement, so we learn to flow better and the incorporate that into the classes we do together. The food we eat over the weekend is almost just as important as the yoga, everything is homemade and delicious, and just happens to be vegan. We sit together, chat, laugh and create a real sense of community. It is a huge passion of mine.
The weekends are always so amazing, we have yet to have had a group who haven’t left friends.”

Manta Transmission and Meditation Teacher
Shahida runs Women’s Mantra Transmission Circles at Acorn and also offers 1:1 Mantra Therapy Sessions.
She came to this beautiful work having practised yoga for 20yrs (and having focused on her own healing) at a point and during and intensity where she could no longer work without the support of a teacher who understood both Awakening and Kundalini.
To actually awaken, to transform, to become more conscious, to bring more beauty, more love, more joy to the world through our words, through our actions, through supporting each other and by consistently working with these higher states of consciousness so that we can ‘do the work’ that we need to do to fulfil our highest potential…in this lifetime…is very close to Shahida’s heart.
